ICJ Verdict In Kulbhushan Jadhav’s Case, Rules In favor Of India!

 Khulbhusan Sudhir Jadhav is an Indian national arrested in Baluchistan, Pakistan, for the charges of terrorism and spying for India’s Intelligence agency with a motive of destabilising the country. The Pakistani government claims that he is a serving commander in the Indian Navy who was involved in insurgent activities inside Pakistan, and was arrested on 3rd March, 2016 during a counter-intelligence raid in Baluchistan.

But, on the other hand, the Indian government recognises Jadhav as a former naval officer, but denies any links with him and maintains he took premature retirement. He joined the IDAC ( Indian Defence Academy) in 1987 and was commissioned in the engineering  branch of the Indian Navy, 1991. After the 2001 attack on the Parliament of India, he is said to have started gathering information and intelligence within India. After 14 years of serving he putatively entered into intelligence operations in 2003, and established a small business in Iran. Several undetected visits to Pakistan from chabadar were confirmed, where his activities were to Karachi and Baluchistanwas made public.

Asim Saleem Bajwa,the director general of Inter-Services Public Relations(ISPR), media wing of Pakistan said that Jadhav had been working for RAW and was in contact with Baluch separatists and terrorists that hinted fuelling sectarian violence in the province and the country . In, reference to what has already been said, Jadhav was a financial support for the terrorists. During his interrogation, Jadhav revealed the details about his funding and disclosed the plans to destabilise the country. Ear-piercing truth…

        On 10th April, 2017, Jadhav was sentenced to death by Field General Court Martial(FGCM) in Pakistan. On 18th May, 2017, the International Court of Justice(ICJ) halted the hanging of Jadhav after India approached it against the death sentence. India has won the ICJ ruling but, India had sought consular access to assess the facts, which was denied by Pakistan on the pretext of Jadhav’s claims involvement in sponsoring terrorist activities. Any conflict between these two countries loses its essence as the issue is dragged and made political.

As quoted by Jadhav, “These activities have been of anti-national or terrorist nature which resulted in the killing and wounding of Pakistani citizens”.

India has rejected the video confession, claiming it to be a completely doctored video purposely  made by Pakistan with an attempt to defame India.
